BOWRING’S
Fine Art Auctioneers Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian Company,
headquartered in New Delhi and with offices in Mumbai, Bangalore,
Kolkata and London. Set up in April 2001, Bowring’s
conducted their first auction in November 2001 in New Delhi,
and since then have conducted 8 auctions across the country.
In addition to the by now fairly established markets of Contemporary
Indian Painting, Bowring’s have also successfully explored
areas that have not yet become popular in the Indian auction
arena. Bowring’s have been the first to conduct auctions
in India in Works of Art, Furniture, Porcelain and even Jewellery.
BOWRING’S
operate to a stringent and published code of conduct, which
clarifies that it acts as an agent only, and not as a principal.
Bowring’s intend to establish an open and legitimate
art market in India where sellers can be assured of receiving
the best price, and purchasers of buying genuine articles
at fair market value. Bowring’s conduct both valuations
as well as auctions and operate to develop all aspects of
the auction business in India.
